Amy Root- owner, lead designer
Amy Root is a Colorado native who grew up in Applewood. She graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture. (1996.) She has worked in the horticulture industry for over 28 years. "My first horticulture job was working at Fossil Creek Nursery in Ft. Collins during college. After graduation I moved into the office and managed their wholesale department. Both jobs were incredible and gave me a solid foundation for a career in Horticulture." She credits working with, selling, identifying, receiving, stocking etc. of plant material at Fossil Creek to why her designs outshine most. "My plant knowledge and how I apply that into all my designs is my secret sauce." In 1998 Root moved back home to help her brother and father finish building Stoney Creek Golf Course in Arvada. "My family roots are deep in the golf industry and that's sorta where I thought I would end up as well after college." However, upon her return to Denver, a friend asked her to design and install the landscape for a new build in Arvada. Amy agreed and the rest, as they say, is history. Root Landscape was born. Amy is incredibly personable with an unsurpassed knowledge and confidence when it comes to creating landscapes here in front range. Her years of experience shine through when she meets with you to survey your project. She pays attention, listens and considers every detail. The final result are stunning, functional designs that meet clients goals and flourish with the surrounding environment harmoniously. When Amy isn't working, you can find her on the sidelines of her kids sports activities, creating art in her backyard studio or hanging with neighbors and friends enjoying a cold Corona on her front porch. She is an avid golfer and skier who also enjoys hiking, biking and playing hockey. She is a former Division 1 scholarship golfer (Tulsa, CSU) Girls Golf High School State Champion (Wheat Ridge, 1991) and retired Rugby player (USA Rugby pool player, 2003-04, Flanker.) She and her partner, LH live in Wheat Ridge along with their 2 teenage children, Sydney and Seth and their 2 dogs, Harper and Cash. |

We recycle or reclaim a large percentage of our renovation tear outs and project waste. Concrete, metal, lumber, sod, fencing, brush, mixed organics, old rock just to name a few. |
